GRAB A best friend TO JOIN YOU
On The Trip Of a Lifetime!

a journey of release and rejuvenation
Imagine you and your best girlfriend sitting in the garden of a beautiful Tuscan villa, overlooking the rolling hills of Tuscany, or wandering the streets of Florence, visiting picturesque ancient villages and soaking in the beauty of the moment.
This retreat is a transformative experience created for women who are longing to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with themselves again.
Maybe you’ve spent so long caring for everyone else that your own needs, dreams, and wellbeing have quietly slipped to the bottom of the list.
I believe nature, real food, rest, and meaningful connection are true medicine — and at this retreat we bring it all together in a deeply nourishing experience.
A place where you will feel seen, cared for, and supported by the life-giving power of true sisterhood, where women uplift and encourage one another in a nurturing space.
You’ll release what no longer serves you, reconnect with your true self, and return home feeling lighter, grounded, and rejuvenated for the next chapter of your life.

maybe you've spent years taking care of everyone else...
You’ve been putting off your own dreams for “someday” while taking care of everyone around you.
But constantly giving to others without taking time to restore yourself can leave you feeling exhausted, disconnected, and running on empty.
Now your someday is here.
Seven days in the beautiful countryside of Italy, where there is no rush and no demands.
My team and I have thoughtfully created a different kind of retreat for you.
One where you can sleep in.
Wake with the sun on your face.
Take a deep breath.
Get grounded.
Wander slowly.
And finally…
exhale.

Tuscany is waiting for you!

Tuscany is that place—where the pace of life encourages presence, where every meal feels like a celebration, and community is built around the table, sharing nourishing meals, learning from the local community and forming lasting friendships.
This is where I found my “second wind” in life just two years ago, when Italy gave me the gift of remembering that beauty can rise through the ashes of my life.
So join me and other women to learn what it means to use food and nature as medicine, while taking in the beauty of Tuscany and its slowed-down village life.

Ciao! I 'm Anneke
We’re going to Tuscany… and I am inviting you to come too!
I am so excited to share what my amazing team and I have planned for you at our Around My Tuscan Table – Wellness & Culinary Retreat.
My passion is helping women reclaim their health, with a focus on Whole Body Health (body, mind & spirit). Through nutrition and a holistic approach, we begin to gently jumpstart healing. I believe nature and real food are true medicine — what I call “God’s Farmacy.”
I was born on a farm in South Africa and learned from a young age how healing “earth-to-plate” food is. I also learned that the ultimate key to our health is the quality of the soil our food grows in and our animals graze on. Untouched, unsprayed and free from chemicals — just as God created it. When the soil is compromised, everything down the line is affected, creating a snowball effect that depletes our food of life-giving nutrients, minerals, vitamins and microbes.
I was too young then to fully understand it, but I knew there was something about growing your own food, walking barefoot on the soil, and being around farm animals that made me feel free. I experienced this firsthand through my father’s passion for farming, his gentleness with the animals, and his deep respect for the earth and everything it produces.
Little side note: I had my own pet cow named Ice Cream — but that’s a story for another time. Maybe around a fire pit in Tuscany?
I didn’t feel that same sense of freedom again until two years ago, when I visited Tuscany. It was deeply healing, and I found my “second wind” in life. I knew I had to bring other women to experience the same beauty, culture and restoration that Tuscany gave me.
So I took a leap of faith and combined my experience as a Nutritional Health Coach and Personal Chef to create a Wellness & Culinary Retreat designed to help women reconnect with their purpose and experience true healing on many levels.
What better place for this than Tuscany — surrounded by beauty, culture and history. Eating fresh, earth-to-plate food. Forming new friendships. Slowing down enough to truly appreciate it all.
When you get to know me, you’ll quickly realize my life revolves around feeding people and creating new recipes. So it felt only natural that my team and I would create something truly special and unique for you at this retreat.
I’m bringing together the comforting, deep flavors of my South African roots, the rich simplicity of Tuscan cuisine and the culturally diverse flavors of my home for the past 26 years - Southern California. The result is a culinary experience and feast you don’t want to miss, all centered around the powerful idea of Food as Medicine.
This retreat is also special because it forms part of the journey of creating my first cookbook — and I am inviting you into that process. You will be among the first to taste new recipes and share your feedback.
I’ve carefully brought together a team who are just as passionate as I am about creating a truly transformative experience. These are people I trust deeply — women who have walked with me through many seasons of life. Together, we are here to create a space where you will feel genuinely loved, seen and cared for.

MEET THE TEAM:
- Leigh: Logistics, planning & taste-testing
- Janine: Aesthetics, catering & hospitality
- Jenna: Photography, videography & storytelling

Leigh
is helping with the logistics and planning for the retreat, ensuring everything runs seamlessly so you can fully enjoy your experience.
For well over 15 years, Anneke and I dreamt of visiting Italy together. Now, not only has that wish been fulfilled, but we get to bring others along on our adventure.
I'm a seasoned project manager who loves to sink her teeth into new endeavours - and travel planning gives me every opportunity to do just that. The joys that Italy so generously gives (the food! the beauty! the characters!) feeds my love for travel and discovering new places.

Janine
will be taking care of aesthetics and hospitality at the Villa and will make sure you have everything you need during your stay.
I am passionate about love and family, welcoming people at tables, curating beautiful spaces, travel, and living a life of meaning and impact with a grateful heart.
I am looking forward to spending quality time with wonderful women from across the world in a idyllic setting - sharing stories and life experiences in order to grow spiritually and live with purpose.

Jenna
will be capturing the retreat through photo and video, weaving together an authentic visual record of your time in Tuscany.
A director and multidisciplinary creative, her work sits at the intersection of documentary authenticity and artful vision, finding meaning in people, places, and the details that connect them
I am excited to be part of this team and wholeheartedly believe in nourishment of body and soul through food, and the power of slow living. Having spent meaningful time in Italy throughout my career, I know firsthand the joy, liberty, and mental freedom that la dolce vita can bring.
Don't Delay - life is short!

where we'll stay
Leigh and I traveled to Tuscany to personally view and select our home for this special week. We looked for a beautiful Tuscan villa with sweeping views, lush gardens, a sparkling pool, a spacious kitchen and cosy, restful décor. And we found not one, but two amazing options that made our hearts sing.

The villa will offer:
- Shared rooms (2 twin beds per room)
- Spacious kitchen for cooking classes
- Outdoor dining beneath the stars
- Quiet corners for journaling, prayer, or a restorative nap

WHY A WOMEN'S RETREAT?
It’s an honor to be a woman — a journey of love and courage, even when it isn’t easy. We don’t do it because we have to, but because we recognize it as both a gift and a responsibility.
Still, even the strongest among us need a moment to pause and recharge.
This is your moment.
“If ever there comes a time when the women of the world come together purely and singly for the benefit of mankind, it will be a force such as the world has never known.”
-Matthew Arnold, Author-

Do I need travel insurance?
- Yes. All retreat participants are required to have travel insurance, trip cancellation insurance, and health insurance.
Do I need to be in good physical shape for this trip?
- This is a medium physical activity-level retreat. You can expect to be on the move on a regular basis throughout the course of the retreat.
- We’ll be walking often on uneven cobblestone streets, hilly paths, stairs with no railings, and all the charming, ancient terrain Italy is famous for. You don’t need to be a triathlete, but comfortable walking for extended periods is key. Our day trips to Florence, Pienza & Montepulciano are the most physically demanding, with lots of walking through the historic streets.
- Travelers should be healthy enough to participate in all included walks without assistance.
- Team members, tour guides and drivers who accompany your group are unable to provide special mobility or luggage handling assistance to travelers on tour. Their responsibility is to ensure the group enjoys a smooth and informative journey, and they can’t be relied on to provide individualized assistance to any one traveler.
- We move at a reasonable pace to avoid missing scheduled stops. The rest of the group cannot miss any scheduled activities because of the needs of an individual.
- Due to the pace and physical activity level of this retreat, mobility aids such as wheelchairs, walkers or canes will be difficult to use and are not recommended.
- Poolside, anyone? We want you to have a beautiful, comfortable experience at your own pace so if you feel like you would rather relax at the villa and skip any excursion that is absolutely fine.
- If you have mobility concerns or retreat pace questions, please discuss them with us.
what if i get sick or injured while on the trip?
- Should you or someone else get sick during your trip, we will help you access appropriate medical care as quickly as possible. At that point you will be responsible for following the advice of local health authorities. We will not be able to provide any refund, even if the trip is interrupted.
- You (or your travel insurance) will need to cover any expenses incurred for medical treatment, testing, medication or self-isolation.
- We will provide you with a list of important emergency contacts numbers as part of Retreat package.
Travel, Arrival & Departure Information
- It can be daunting navigating international travel, especially if you're traveling solo. We will provide you with a travel guide and tips to help you navigate better. Our drivers are there to meet you at the pick-up point and take you to the villa.
- Transportation from/to allocated pickup point are included. (We will give you all the information about this on your discovery call with us.) All other transfers (train, airport transfers, taxis etc.) to allocated pickup location are your responsibility. We will supply you with a list of recommendations and travel tips in your sign up package.
- When you arrive at your appointed pickup location, an “Around My Tuscan Table” retreat representative will be waiting for you with an “Around My Tuscan Table” sign or a sign with your name(s). If you don’t see a representative immediately, please be patient and stay in the pickup location. They may be assisting another traveler who has also just arrived and will be back shortly.
Baggage Allowance & Expectations
- Please note that our travelers are limited to one carry-on bag and one smaller personal item/bag per person due to storage limitations on transportation vans.
- Some airlines may impose additional charges if you exceed baggage size and weight restrictions. Be advised that you are responsible for any baggage fees incurred on all flights.
- Make sure to check correct sizes and weight before trip. Contact your airline(s) for baggage size and weight restrictions for your flights.
- Make sure you label your baggage and keep valuables, medication, and documents in your carry-on bag.
- Travelers must manage their own luggage throughout the retreat.
Currency
- You will use the Euro on this retreat.
- Better rates of exchange are usually available overseas, although it’s worth ordering some currency from your local bank to use when you first arrive.
- We strongly advise that you take debit/bank cards and credit cards, which can be used to withdraw cash at local banks as needed.
- You can use most debit/credit cards at ATMs on the international networks Cirrus and Plus, but make sure to check with your home bank about withdrawal fees.
- International banks and businesses primarily accept debit and credit cards that work with the EMV chip system. If you do not already have at least one debit or credit card with a chip in it, we strongly recommend requesting one from your bank prior to your tour.
- Plan ahead and bring cash to tip your local guides and bus drivers. We also recommend keeping coins in the local currency on hand, as some public bathrooms may charge a fee for use.
Passport, Visa & Entry Requirements
- In order to enter Italy, U.S. and Canadian citizens need a valid passport with an expiration date extending at least six months beyond the date of reentry.
- We recommend having at least one blank passport page for entry stamps.
- The Entry/Exit System (EES) has officially been rolled out April 10, 2026.
-
What it is? EES is an automated IT system that will register:
- The entry and exit of non-EU travelers
- Biometric data (fingerprints and facial images)
- Travel document details (like passport info
-
EES will affect:
- Travelers from non-EU countries (e.g., U.S., UK, etc.)
- People visiting Schengen countries for short stays (up to 90 days in any 180-day period)
-
If you travel to Europe after EES is in place:
- You’ll likely use self-service kiosks at airports or border crossings
- You’ll scan your passport and provide biometrics
- You may experience faster processing after your first registration
-
Beginning in Q4 2026, U.S. and Canadian passport holders must register for an ETIAS travel authorization in order to enter many European countries.
- Passport holders from over 60 visa-exempt countries (including the U.S. and Canada) will need to apply for an ETIAS travel authorization in order to visit 30 European countries. That means that even if you’ve previously traveled to any of these European countries without a visa, starting in Q4 2026, you’ll need to get ETIAS authorization to visit them again. If you’re traveling to multiple countries with this requirement, you only need to complete the form once.
- All Around My Tuscan Table travelers are responsible for obtaining their own ETIAS travel authorization before departure. For more details, please visit the Etias website.
- If you are not a U.S. or Canadian citizen, you must contact your destination country’s consulate for your specific entry requirements.
Mobile Apps, Wifi & Data
- Wifi is available in the Villa.
- There is no Wifi on any of the transportation vehicles.
- Please contact your mobile service provider for information on roaming charges.
- Once you are registered for the retreat we will send you a list of recommended mobile apps that you may find useful while traveling, like: train transport, maps, translation etc.
How does the Transportation work?
- Most transportation on this tour is by private van/bus. Private vans or busses may have steps required to board and often do not provide access to ramps or lifts.
- All transportation to excursions is included.
- Transportation from/to allocated pickup point is included. (We will give your all the information about this on your discovery call with us.)
What weather and dress code should we expect/pack for?
- We will provide a packing list closer to travel dates with suggested attire and useful gadgets. The trip is very casual, so as long as you are comfortable, you will be fine.
- We recommend packing lightweight, loose-fitting clothing that can be easily layered to accommodate varying temperatures, as well as a light jacket or rainwear.
- A sturdy pair of walking shoes or sneakers is recommended for sightseeing.
- It is preferable not to visit churches or other religious sites with bare legs and shoulders (and entrance may be denied on this basis). We always carry a scarf with us to cover our shoulders if needed.
other packing tips
- We recommend packing a reusable water bottle to cut down on single use plastic waste.
- We recommend packing a universal adapter, as well as a voltage converter if you plan on using your own hairdryer or other device without a built-in converter.
- In case of emergencies, we also recommend packing your medical insurance card in your carry-on.
What if I want to skip an activity—and how important is being on time?
- Each day in Tuscany is designed to flow smoothly—whether we’re exploring whitewashed hill towns, tasting olive oil at a family estate, or watching the sun set over the Tuscan Hills.
- If you’d rather skip an activity and unwind at the Villa, that’s totally fine—just give us a heads-up in advance so we can plan accordingly.
- To keep things running smoothly and respect our local hosts, please be punctual. You’ll get a friendly nudge if needed, but the group can’t wait forever.
group meals and dietary restrictions
- All meals served at the Villa will be made with locally sourced ingredients and all the pasta, sourdough bread and ingredients will be free of gluten. We thoughtfully select the meals for the group, so you can simply relax and enjoy.
- Every dish is chosen with care, giving you a true taste of Tuscany’s most beloved flavors—from traditional to rustic countryside specialties. We work closely with local chefs and restaurants to curate a delicious journey through the region, highlighting seasonal ingredients and traditional recipes.
- All the food prepared by Anneke will be gluten-free and we can cater to most dietary restrictions. We just have to mention that we will not have a nut-free kitchen and a lot of Anneke’s recipes includes nuts for their health benefits. If you are allergic to nuts we will unfortunately not be able to accommodate you.
- Most of the restaurants will cater to all dietary restrictions.
- All you have to do is bring your curiosity—and maybe a little room for dessert.
tipping
- We recommend tipping the equivalent of $4USD per person per day for your driver.
- If applicable, we also recommend the equivalent of $2USD per local guide.
- Tips can only be paid in cash.
- Tipping in restaurants: It is not custom to tip in Italy when eating at a restaurant, but leaving 1 Euro is at your own discretion.
health questions
- If you have dietary restrictions and/or food allergies, please notify us at your first discovery call with us so we can assess if we would be able to accommodate you.
- If you have medication that you take daily, be sure you have enough for each day of the tour as well as any possible delays encountered.
- The water is safe to drink throughout the retreat unless posted otherwise.
responsible travel
- When you travel with “Around my Tuscan Table ”, you’ll make a positive impact on the places you visit and the people and animals you meet along the way.
- Travel, when done responsibly, can have an enormous socioeconomic impact on communities. To maximize your impact, eat at locally owned restaurants and shop at small businesses. Your Team members will point out restaurants they recommend.
- Prepare for your trip: Be aware of monetary norms such as tipping and negotiating in a market; learn about the destination’s forms of etiquette; and take some time to learn a few words in the local language.
- When interacting with locals, make sure to ask people for permission before you take their picture, and approach cultural differences with empathy and an open mind.
- We encourage travelers to limit their waste while on the road, especially single-use plastics. You can cut back on generating plastic waste by packing your own toiletries, using electronic documents, and bringing a reusable water bottle and shopping bag. If you need to use plastics or paper, please recycle.
